THE Board is a skills-based, volunteer board charged with fulfilling the obligation of securing the complementary funding to maintain and equip the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service as a world-class service for Tasmanians and visitors to the State.
The Board undertook a strategic renewal in 2019 to ensure that it had the skills, resources and energy necessary to meet its responsibilities.
The Board meets monthly, with a majority of time dedicated to assessing funding priorities for the service. Equal attention is paid to the allocation of funds, and to driving the organisation's fundraising strategy to ensure funding sustainability.
The board is currently undertaking an extensive review of its governance structure and fundraising strategy. The aim is to ensure the organisation can sustain donor and sponsor revenue in a rapidly changing environment, to maintain its operations, secure first-class rescue and medical equipment and train personnel.
