Westpac Rescue Helicopter Tasmania's flying visit to Montagu Bay Primary School.

6th June, 2016

On Monday, 4th April, 2016 the students, teachers and parents of Montagu Bay Primary School welcomed the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and its crew with a spectacular fly over, landing on its oval.

Prior to the arrival of the helicopter, the students had been collecting donations and  buying raffle tickets with the prize of two classes having exclusive access inside the cabin and cockpit as well as asking individual questions of the crew.

After landing, all students were able to ask the crew some questions before the lucky two classes explored the helicopter with some students even lucky enough to sit in the pilot’s seat.

Westpac Tasmania’s Executive Officer Peta Daley was invited to attend the school assembly in May to accept a cheque for $340.50 and a beautiful book of illustrations by some of the students at the school for the crew. Ms Daley explained to the students that all money raised for the helicopter went to specialist equipment and advanced training for the crew.
