Paul was a Police officer with Tasmania Police for almost 40 years. Most of that time (1985 to 2016) was spent with helicopter Search and Rescue. Some of Paul’s notable contributions included the upgrade of the rescue helicopter service from single engine to twin engine helicopters in 2000.  

Paul’s career with Tasmania Police spanned multiple roles, including Sergeant in Charge of the Police Crew, Crew Chief and Trainer.  Paul was also in charge of Police Divers and Police Search and Rescue for Southern Tasmania for more than 20 years. He also made multiple trips to Antarctica with the Australian Antarctic Division.
In addition to his achievements in the Police force, Paul established and sold an award-winning tourist white water rafting business, King River Rafting, in Queenstown Tasmania. Paul is a current Board member with Paddle Tasmania (the peak canoe/kayak body in Tasmania).
